Experience has shown educational benefits of sport as it helps children and youth to develop personal and social skills such as commitment, patience, resilience , fair-play and team work – all these skills are crucial to set and achieve personal goals in life and to be able to relate to others. Team sports are also more and more recognised as an important tool in sustainable grass-root peace building efforts as it helps to overcome social and cultral barriers.

Sport and Education

You are a football or fitness fan and you would like to collect experience in the fields of sports and education? Support this football project in Cape Town as a soccer or fitness coach and assist local coaches in facilitating soccer and fitness trainings. You can also assist the learner support programme, assist players with their homework or give players with special learning needs extramural lessons in maths, reading and writing.

Surfing and Social Work Cape Town

You love the sea and water sports? You would love to spend time with children and youth and help them to overcome the challenges in their lives? In this surf project in Cape Town sports volunteers assist the team with facilitating swim and surf sessions as well as other social and educational activities such as home work support, environmental education, music and drumming, computer literacy and other activities. This is also a perfect opportunity to learn to surf while you volunteer.

Sport Management in Soccer Club

You have a background in business administration or marketing and you would like to share your skills with a good cause? Volunteer for this extraordinary football club in Cape Town, become part of the international and multicultural team and assist with various business administration and development tasks. Surf Sabbatical

Assist this surf project at South Africa's famous Garden Route with the facilitation of the surf lessons for children and youth at risk to help them learn curcial life skills. You will also support the team with various operational and project management tasks.

Physical Education in Schools

Physical Education is a non-obligatory subject in the South African curriculum. Hence sport is often not offered in public schools. As a sports volunteer you assist our partner school near Cape Town with the development of its sports programmes. You will help facilitate training sessions and tournaments in soccer, hockey, tennis or athletics.

Sports Management

This surf project in Cape Town's southern suburbs seeks to break the cycle of poverty and violence by offering a surf programme that combines classic therapeutic interventions with surf coaching. The sport of surfing is used to strengthen resilience and coping mechanisms in children and youth who are exposed to violence in their families or neighbourhoods. You assist the project management team with various admin tasks, incl. the coordination of surf sessions, workshops for surf coaches, monitoring & evaluation, marketing & fundraising as well as research.

Sailing Academy

You have skills in sailing and / or boat building and you would like to share these with children from disadvantaged backgrounds? Assist this non-profit sail-training academy in Cape Town's southern suburbs with maintenance of sailing vessels, teaching children boat bulding and maintenance skills as well as facilitation of swimming and sailing lessons.

Sports Foundation

You love sports, especially soccer, hockey or atheltics and you would like to assist the development of sports in a rural area? You have first experiences in coaching children and youth in one of these sports or you have qualifications in the field of sports education and management? In this sports foundation near Cape Town sports volunteers assist local coaches with the facilitation of training sessions as well as tournaments. You can also assist the project management team with various admin tasks, incl. monitoring & evaluation, video & photo taking, data management as well as marketing & fundraising.
